3. What is your intention?
4. When do you plan to do this spell?
Pick as much or as little as you like — moon phase, moon sign, planetary day, time of day, season, or an exact date and time.

What makes a spell work?
Three things: a clear intention you can say in one sentence, components you actually have a relationship with, and a practical step in the same direction afterwards. A protection spell paired with a locked door beats an elaborate ritual on its own. Keep a record of what you did and what happened — that record becomes your grimoire, and it teaches you more than any book.

Common questions
- How do I write a protection spell?
- Name what you're protecting, choose one protective component such as rosemary, black tourmaline or a black candle, work during a waning moon or on a Saturday, and set your component at the threshold you want held.
- Do I need expensive ingredients?
- No. Salt, a white candle, kitchen herbs and your own words are enough for almost anything a beginner needs.
- Can I save the spells I build?
- Yes. With an account, each spell can be named and saved, then viewed, edited, duplicated, searched or deleted in My Thyme for Tarot.
