Natal astrology
Birth chart calculator
Your whole natal chart, worked out from the real sky: every planet with its decan ruler, the angles, both lunar nodes, Black Moon Lilith, Vesta and the Part of Fortune. Your big six come with a written reading; the rest of the chart is laid out for you to take further.
Why whole sign is the default here
Whole sign houses are the oldest system we have: the sign rising becomes the whole first house, the next sign the whole second, and so on. It keeps each house to one sign and one ruler, which makes a chart far easier to read and far harder to distort. It's also the most forgiving if your birth time is a few minutes out — the houses only shift when the rising sign itself changes. Placidus, the modern default in most apps, divides houses by time rather than by sign, so house sizes stretch and squash with latitude and can break down entirely near the poles. Both are shown here; switch above and compare.
What's on the chart
- · All ten planets with retrograde marks, plus the Ascendant and Midheaven.
- · Decan rulers, in Chaldean order, for every placement.
- · North and South Node — where you're heading and what you already know.
- · Black Moon Lilith (mean apogee) and Vesta.
- · The Part of Fortune, calculated by sect (day and night charts use different formulas).
Asteroid and Lilith positions use mean elements, so they can be around a degree out; planets, angles and luminaries are calculated from a full astronomical engine.
