The torch in the search

When Persephone was taken, Hekate heard her cry from her cave. She met grieving Demeter with torches in hand and walked beside her through the dark. After Persephone's return, Hekate became her companion and guide on every journey between the worlds.

Honoured by Zeus

Hesiod's Theogony says Zeus honoured Hekate above all others, letting her keep her share of earth, sea and sky after the Titans fell. Whoever prays to her well is said to find favour quickly.
